Don’t forget to Wash your hands!!!

washhandsRemember we are still at that time of year when it is easy to spread bacteria and viruses through personal contact. That’s why it is very important to WASH YOUR HANDS.

The Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests hand washing is the easiest and most effective way to prevent illness. What is the right way you ask?

  • Wet your hands with running water
  • Lather your hands by rubbing them together, don’t forget the back of the hands and between your fingers
  • Scrub your hands for 20 seconds, longer is not necessary
  • Air dry your hands ideally or use a paper towel if necessary

Now if you don’t have soap available, hand sanitizer with AT LEAST 60% alcohol is an effective alternative, just rub over all surfaces of your hands and again let air dry. Remember this reduces bacteria but does not eliminate it, so if soap is available, use it!!! If you have any dental needs or questions, please contact our office Burns Family Dentistry and until then stay warm and keep washing 🙂   /CB
