Earth Day and Your Dental Routine
Running water when brushing your teeth can waste up to 5 gallons of water. When brushing 2X per day, you are wasting 10 gallons of drinking water in one day; 280 gallons over one month; 3360 gallons over one year. A family of four would use the equivalent of a 24′ round above ground swimming pool just from brushing their teeth.
This Earth Day remember to recycle your plastic mouthwash bottles, worn out toothbrush or denture brush. Old brushes can also be recycled by using it to clean other places in the home, like the bathroom or kitchen. An electric toothbrush can hold a charge for several weeks once fully charged. Simply unplug the charger to conserve energy.
Recycling and limiting the amount of energy we use are simple ways to save the planet and maintain your dental health.
