Medication Drop Boxes
Recently a community meeting was held by SEAHEC at UNCW Kenan Auditorium about the rising opioid epidemic in our home town. Wilmington, NC has been named #1 in the country for opioid abuse. Frances Weller moderated a question and answer discussion with law enforcement, the mayor, CEO of NHRMC (New Hanover Regional Medical Center), and one of the church leaders of PC3 (Port City Community Church). Drop boxes have been installed around the local area as part of the solution. There will be no questions asked and no paperwork to fill out. Simply drop off unused medications in the box. A Medication Take Back Event will be held 8/26/17 at Port City Community Church.
