Prevention is key! Be cavity free :-)

cavity freeIt’s estimated half of all adult Americans have gum disease, and experts say that’s because adults aren’t taking proper care of their teeth and aren’t going to the dentist.

Whether it’s cost issues, discomfort, anxiety, fear of the dentist, or other reasons, people state they put things off and assume if the pain goes away, it’s fine, and all of the sudden it gets much worse. We understand the pain of dental costs. Dental insurance coverage is limited. It may only take one procedure to push you over your max for the year.  When you lose a number of teeth, you’re only going to get maybe a $1,000 or $1,500 towards treatment, which really only covers a small amount.

There are a few good ways to make dental appointments less avoidable and more affordable.

Prevention is key — Brush twice a day, floss daily, and go to cleanings to help you avoid costly problems in the future.

Speak up — Talk to your dentist about treatment options or priorities for phases of treatment.  Find out if your dentist offers any type of discounts or financing options.  At our practice, we offer a 5% discount when a patient pays in full with cash or check on the date services are rendered.  Another great option is CARE CREDIT – Drs. Burns pick up the interest for a 6 or 12 mo pay back plan (extended terms are also available but there are fees associated with this). Care Credit makes it simple to apply and this is a very good option to get the treatment you need while keeping costs within your budget.
