Sports drinks and Dental Cavities

As hot as this summer has been so far, I know staying hydrated is a concern for many people. Drinking plenty of water and eating a balanced diet is usually enough to keep you well hydrated but many of us still turn to sports drinks. Many of those are full of sugar and most are acidic in nature as well. That is a double negative for your teeth. Be a smart consumer and always read the nutrition labels. If you do use sports drinks, try and consume them quickly as opposed to sipping on them all day. Or possibly choose unflavored water with electrolytes to help quench your thirst.  That can make the difference between a good check up and cavities.
